The New York Times reported on October 31, 2026, that Caleb Suh, a former West Point cadet and current Columbia University student, pleaded guilty in June to drugging and forcing abortion pills on another cadet at the academy.
Suh’s ex-girlfriend is now suing him for assault and battery, the newspaper said.
Before the legal case, Suh was known for his leadership in a military service organization. According to the website of Operation Golden Shield, Suh founded the nonprofit in 2020 during the COVID-19 pandemic, initially mobilizing cadets from West Point and the Naval Academy to deliver care packages and direct relief to elderly veterans and homeless individuals in the Washington, D.C. area. The organization has since expanded nationally, and Suh now serves as chair of its advisory board, providing oversight and mentorship.
The website also states that Suh led operations under high-stakes conditions while at West Point and conducted research with McKinsey & Company on vulnerabilities in the U.S. defense industrial base.
